General Info

Bountiful STEM educational foundation, Bountiful Technologies Company Limited has partnered with the REC Foundation to organize this workshop for girls in deprived communities in honor of the International Day of the Girl Child on October 21st, 2024. The event will be held on the 26th of October 2024. This workshop will help these girls to identify the unique talent they have when it comes to STEM education.

Agenda

Agenda for Girl Powered STEM Workshop

Duration: 8 Hours

9:00 AM - 9:30 AM: Registration and Welcome

- Participants check in and receive materials.
- Opening remarks from organizers and introduction to the day's agenda.

9:30 AM - 10:30 AM: Keynote Speech

- Topic: "Breaking Barriers: Women in STEM"
- Speaker: A prominent female STEM role model sharing her journey and insights.

10:30 AM - 11:00 AM: Networking Break

- Opportunity for participants to mingle, share experiences, and connect with mentors.

11:00 AM - 12:30 PM: Hands-On Workshops (Session 1)
  - Robotics Basics: Introduction to robotics through hands-on activities.
  - Coding for Beginners: Learn the fundamentals of coding using fun projects.

12:30 PM - 1:30 PM: Lunch Break

- Healthy lunch provided, with informal discussions encouraged.

1:30 PM - 3:00 PM: Hands-On Workshops (Session 2)
  - Engineering Challenges: Team-based problem-solving activities.
  - Creative Tech: Explore how technology can be used in art and design.

3:00 PM - 3:30 PM: Mentorship Session

- Small group discussions with female mentors from various STEM fields, providing guidance and advice.

3:30 PM - 4:00 PM: Career Exploration Panel

- Topic: "Diverse Paths in STEM"
- Panelists discuss various career options in STEM and answer questions from participants.

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Interactive STEM Activity

- Participants engage in a fun, collaborative project incorporating skills learned throughout the day.

5:00 PM - 5:30 PM: Closing Remarks and Reflection

- Summary of the day's activities, feedback collection, and encouragement to continue pursuing STEM interests.

We will use teachers from the school district.
