General Info
This workshop will explore hands-on programming of VEX V5 Robots. Learners will build a simple robot and focus on programming. The intent of this experience is to beef up your programming skills. We will be using the VEX V5 code software and writing the programs in the text-based C++ programming language. Graphical programming will not be used.
Students will progress through a series of activities featuring specific components. At the end of each activity there will be a mini-challenge where learners put to use their new programming knowledge. Here is a list of a few activity topics:
- Programming Basics & Structure
- Joystick and Driver Control Commands
- LCD Screens – Displaying Information
- V5 Motor Commands for wheels, lifting arms
- Autonomous programming
- Using Sensors
This programming workshop is open to students going into 8-12 Grade for the 2019-2020 School year. This workshop is recommended for individuals who are serious about learning V5 programming.
