Welcome to the most exciting and empowering event of the year! We are thrilled to announce the collaboration between our innovation event management team at AlMaaref Private School, and the renowned VEX Robotics. Together, we are embarking on a remarkable journey to inspire and empower the future generation of female leaders in the world of STEM.

In a world driven by technology and innovation, it is imperative that we equip our girls with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to excel in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). With this mission in mind, we proudly present the "Girl Powered Event-2023," a groundbreaking initiative designed exclusively for girls aged 8 to 16.

Our event is more than just a gathering; it's a celebration of girl power, creativity, and limitless potential. At the "Girl Powered Event-2023," we will provide a platform where young girls can explore the fascinating world of robotics, engineering, and problem-solving, all while fostering a deep passion for STEM subjects.

Girl Powered Event Agenda - October 18, 2023

Location: AlMaaref Private School, Baghdad Street AlQusais, Dubai UAE.

7:30 AM – 8:00 AM: Registration and Welcome

- Registration desk opens for onsite registration.

- Participants and their parents/guardians check-in.

- Welcome drinks and light refreshments.

8:15 AM – 8:45 AM: Opening Ceremony

-Welcome speech.

-Introduction to the importance of STEM education for girls.

-Presentation of the event's goals and objectives.

 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM: Keynote Speaker

- Invited keynote speaker from STEM education.

- Inspiring talk on the journey and achievements of women in STEM.

- Q&A session with the keynote speaker.

 9:45 AM – 12:00 PM: Hands-on Robotics Workshop

- Participants divided into age-appropriate groups.

- Introduction to VEX Robotics and robotics basics.

- Guided hands-on activities and challenges with VEX Robotics kits.

12:10 PM- 1: 10 PM: Team Building and Collaboration Activity

-Teams showcase the robots they built during the workshop.

-Mini competition with exciting challenges.

-Prizes for the winning teams.

1:15 PM-1:30 PM Closing Ceremony

- Acknowledgment of sponsors, partners, and volunteers.

- Presentation of certificates to participants.

- Closing remarks and thank-you speech.

1:30 PM -1:45 PM: Event Conclusion

- Event officially concludes.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Event Name: Girl Powered Event 2023

Objective: Promoting STEM Education among Girls (Age 8-16)

At the Girl Powered Event-2023, the safety and well-being of all participants, attendees, and staff are our utmost priority. While we strive for a successful and enjoyable event, we understand that emergencies and adverse weather conditions may arise. This policy outlines the procedures and guidelines to be followed in such situations.

Emergency Situations:

In the event of any emergency, including but not limited to medical emergencies, fires, natural disasters, or other unforeseen circumstances, the following steps will be taken:

1. Immediate Response: The event management team and event staff will prioritize the safety and well-being of all participants, attendees, and staff. Relevant authorities, such as medical personnel or emergency services, will be contacted if necessary.

 

2. Evacuation: If evacuation is required, event staff will provide clear instructions to all participants and attendees, guiding them to designated evacuation points away from potential danger.

3. Communication: Regular updates and information will be communicated via the event's official channels, including announcements over the public address system, text messages, and social media platforms, to keep all stakeholders informed.

4. Recovery: Once the situation has been resolved and deemed safe, the event will resume if possible. If not, event organizers will determine the next steps, including rescheduling or cancellation.

Bad Weather Policy:

In the event of adverse weather conditions that may affect the safety and enjoyment of the event, the following procedures will be followed:

1. Weather Monitoring: Event organizers will closely monitor weather forecasts leading up to and during the event.

2. Delay or Postponement: If adverse weather conditions are forecasted, the event may be delayed or postponed ensuring the safety of all participants and attendees. Event organizers will communicate any changes to the event schedule through official channels.

3. Indoor Alternatives: Whenever possible, indoor alternatives will be provided for scheduled outdoor activities to mitigate the impact of bad weather on the event's program.

4. Cancellation: In extreme weather conditions that pose a significant risk to safety, the event may be cancelled. Event organizers will make every effort to reschedule or refund tickets, as applicable, in case of cancellation.

Communication:

All updates, changes, or cancellations related to emergencies or bad weather will be communicated promptly through the following channels:

- Event website

- Official social media profiles

- Email notifications

- Public address system (on-site)

Participants, attendees, and staff are encouraged to stay informed through these channels and to follow the instructions provided by event staff in case of emergencies or adverse weather conditions.
