Remote Judges are needed for the 2023 VEX Robotics World Championship!  Teams who have qualified to this event will be competing for Judged Awards.  Initial Judged Interviews for these awards are being conducted remotely over Zoom (download Zoom here).  Teams must complete a remote interview to be considered for Judged Awards. 

Judges will conduct interviews and rank interview responses using an easy-to-follow online rubric.   The Remote Judging process is ongoing over the weeks prior to the event which takes place later this Spring in Dallas, TX. 

Use the links below to view available volunteer shifts by week.  Please sign up for as many 3-hour shifts as you are able. Judges who provide at least 15 hours (5 shifts) of online judging will earn a Fast Pass for their team at Worlds!   Thank you so much for giving of your time for this important event!

Required Training - A brief (18 minute) online training video can be accessed HERE.  Please watch this video prior to your first judging shift.  If you have any questions about the video content, please contact judging@recf.org and one of our staff will be happy to assist you.

Commitment & Time Frame: ALL SHIFTS ARE US CENTRAL TIME ZONE! Judging will be conducted in 3-hour shifts.  Short breaks will be provided.

Experience and Skills Needed: Confidentiality, Impartiality, Effective Communications, Time Management

Judge Requirements:  Remote Judges must be 18 years of age or older, not a high school student, and have completed the required training - see above

Technology Requirements:  Laptop or desktop computer with webcam and microphone, and internet access with sufficient speed to allow a quality Zoom connection.  Judges will need to have both the Zoom conference and the online judging rubric to be open on their computer at the same time.

Dress Code: Business casual clothing that is appropriate for a student audience. Judges will be expected to be on-camera during the entire interview process.
