General Info

The Girl Powered Workshop is open to any girl from Grade 4 to Grade 9 who is a beginner or has very limited experience with robotics. The girls will be introduced to VEX competition rules and divided into teams. Each team will work collaboratively on desiging building and programming their own robots to complete a series of designated tasks on a competition field. 

Join us for a exciting and productive afternoon exploring the world of robotics!

-The workshop is free for all girls.  

-Parents are also invited to watch the competition and mini-award ceremony taking place between 4:00pm and 5:00pm. 

-Space is limited, we could accommodate only 20 girls maximum at one time.

-Water will be provided. Face mask is required when attending the event.

Health and Safety Policies

We will be following Ministry of Health and REC Foundation guidelines, in place at the time of the competition.

NOTE: All visitors are required to complete the Covid self-assessment form when entering the building.  

As we get closer to the event, this page will be updated to the best practices we have in place at this time.

  • Please try to maintain physical spacing where possible.
  • Masks are required at all times.
  • No eating or drinking in pit area.

GETTING HERE

Roboplanet Education and Community Society is located in the city of Richmond.  You may easily reach this place by car or by skytrain. 

The nearest skytrain station is the Canadal Line Aberdeen Station. It is about 5-8 mintues walk from the station to the school. 

If you choose to drive here, there is ample parking in the main parking lot located directly in front of the school.
