Travel Info

This event will be held in the Bonderson building (197) on the Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo campus. Here is a map of Cal Poly.

Driving Directions

From California 101, exit at Santa Rosa/Highway 1 and proceed WEST to Highland Avenue. Turn right onto the Cal Poly campus. Turn right at University Avenue, and right again at the first entrance into the parking lot. AS OF NOW (September 2019), parking is free on Saturdays.

Due to conflicting competitions, teams who are competing at the "Electric Leprechauns Elementary IQ Tournament 1" at St. Patrick's should sign up for either the morning half (middle school teams) or the afternoon half (elementary school teams). Those who are not competing should sign up for the all-day option. If attending half the event, teams will choose two sessions. All-day signups will attend all four sessions with an extra mid-day activity.

General Info

With the growth of competing VEX IQ teams in Central California, this workshop will provide students an opportunity to learn basic engineering concepts through hands-on activities, build and program their robots with Cal Poly students as mentors, and obtain and practice soft skills such as presentation and documentation.

We are tracking registration (for students, coaches, and parents/supporters) based on the Google Form linked to the event.

Due to conflicting competitions, teams who are competing at the "Electric Leprechauns Elementary IQ Tournament 1" at St. Patrick's should sign up for the afternoon half (elementary school teams). We cannot accommodate middle school teams attending the St. Patrick's competition.Those who are not competing should sign up for the all-day option. If attending half the event, teams will choose two sessions. All-day signups will attend all four sessions with an extra mid-day activity.
