General Info

Thank you for registering for the LAUSD Coach Advances Training at Barack Obama Global Preparation Academy, 1700 W 46th St, Los Angeles, CA 90062 on Friday, August 16 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The entrance to the underground parking garage is on the right side of the Gymnasium, next to the playing fields.

VEX IQ Super Kits will be provided. VEX V5 Super Kits should be available for league host high school coaches.

Please bring a charged laptop for programming. Windows 7/8/10 laptops work with all available programming software. Windows laptops, Macbooks and Chromebooks work with Robot Mesh Studio in Chrome browser, which is recommended. You will need to install USB drivers and firmware for your computer to work with the programming software. It would be best to install these in advance to be sure your computer will work:

  1. Go to https://www.robotmesh.com/studio and click on the Install RMC plugin... link in the top right corner to install the Robot Mesh Connector (RMC), so you can download programs to your robot via your computer's USB port.
  2. If that is successful, follow the instructions for your VEX harware to update your USB drivers and install the appropriate Firmware Update Utility. Elementary and Middle School coaches will use VEX IQ hardware. High School coaches will use VEX V5 hardware.
