Refund Policy

Waitlist Policy

If the session is full, a waitlist will be generated. You will not be charged any fees for joining the waitlist, however, payment will be due upon acceptance if a spot opens up. A team member from NOVA SySTEMic will contact you if there is an opening in the session. There will be a quick turnaround (within 24 hours) for accepting the open spot from the waitlist. As soon as a spot opens up, the first one on the waitlist will be asked to join the session. The waitlist is on a first come first served basis.

Cancellation Policy

Camp registration fees are refundable until May 31st minus a $50 non-refundable deposit. Cancellations after May 31st may be granted a partial refund if the spot can be filled from either a waitlist or new registration before the camp starts. There are NO refunds for any cancellations within 7 days before camp starts.

Agenda

Daily Activities (Monday-Friday):

Students will build a VEX IQ Robot in pairs in this one-week camp. They will compete in a maze challenge and with a modified version of the yearly VEX IQ Challenge game. Students will learn to program the robot in robotC to operate autonomously with sensors and they will drive as a team while competing against other campers.

Sample Activities:

  • Build and Program a VEX IQ robot
  • Autonomously solve a maze
  • Compete to score points in the VEX IQ Challenge game

Format: Students work in Pairs, complete challenges and compete with other groups

Friday Showcase:

Friday 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., students demonstrate solving the maze and have a small camp competition. Parents then return to pick up students at 4:00 p.m.

VEX IQ Robotics STEM Camp (Grades 4-8)

General NOVA SySTEMic STEM Camp Information

  • One-week camps are only $315.
  • Camps are offered in a variety of locations in Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William counties and Alexandria.
  • Camps run from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Childcare available 7:45 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
  • Discounts are available if you sign up for multiple camps and/or if you sign up multiple children.
