Welcome to the 2024 North Carolina VRC State Championships for Middle School
The 2024 North Carolina Blended VRC State Championship is a one day event in Concord NC. Teams must qualify for the tournament by participating in a regional event by February 3rd. Teams qualify by winning awards at a local tournament or by invitation based on the highest skills scores posted in North Carolina during the season.
The team coach or teacher listed as the main contact in RobotEvents will be responsible for registering for the State Championship event promptly. They will have a two week window to register to KEEP YOUR STATE SPOT after a qualifying event before their invitation to the North Carolina HS VRC State Championship is lost.
*Qualifying events closer to the State Championship only have 1 week to register for states.
**The State qualifying Skills score cut off will be two weeks prior to the state championship. The number of teams coming qualifying from the skills list is based on open spots after all events the the state of North Carolina have finished. Teams that qualify from skills list will have a short time to registered and pay for the state championship, please plan accordingly.
Teams that move on to the World Championship Event in Dallas, Texas will be responsible for registering for the World Championship event promptly. The teams coach who is officially listed in robotevents as the primary contact receives all team emails, so read the email titles and content carefully. Ensure your IT does not block emails from robotevents.com and roboticseducation.org
If a team double-qualifies for a World Championship spot, the state’s next highest ranking team from the State Championships skills results will receive the invitation.
World Championship qualifying awards and invitations are issued to teams whether or not the teams have expressed an intention to attend the event. Unaccepted World Championship invitations are not offered or transferred to other teams.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
If CCS VEX has to cancel the event due to an Emergency / Bad Weather the State Championship wlil be moved to March 9, 2024
Refund and Payment Policies
No refunds unless the tournament is canceled. If the tournament is canceled, all participants will be notified by e-mail by 6 PM on the day prior to the event. Any refund will not include the $5 processing fee charged when registering. Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions.
Health and Safety Policies
Remember that Covid-19 may impact the event. We are currently under a mask optional protocol and social distancing of 3 feet where possible. If changes are made within our district regarding face mask, limited capacity, and/or social distancing measures the event partner will email the coaches as soon as possible. Be mindful that changes are happening daily in our state. Be patient and understanding as we continue to navigate through the Covid-19 pandemic.

Judging Format
Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. Digital Notebooks must be submitted by 2/12/2024
