Howdy Ya'll!

Welcome to the Seaquam Robotics Double-Barrelled Dust-Up! We're invitin' junior robot rustlers from all 'round to this showdown at Seaquam.

Now to make sure you ain't just showin' up with a 'bot that's built on a lick and a promise, we're givin' you a full extra day from sunup to sundown to get that metal monster purring like a robot kitten.

That's right! It's a two day event. Skills will be open fer the first day so's you can get that out of the way early and focus that ten gallon brain o'yers on the main event on Sunday. We also got some fun surprises on Saturday for folks who wanna stick around so hold onto your kiesters 'cause this event is gonna be a real hootenanny.

So what are you waitin' for? Roll up those sleeves and get yerself signed up lickety split!

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Agenda

This is a two-day event with Saturday dedicated entirely to skills, tuning to our fields, and giving you plenty of time to work on your 'bots. The main qualifying event will be on Sunday. Teams can choose to attend both days or to arrive on Sunday and still have a full tournament experience but there will be less time for Skills on Sunday. There is one price that covers the full weekend of events. (ei: No discounts if you only come on Sunday).

Saturday, January 27th:

9:00 AM - Pits Open
9:30 AM - Inspection Opens
10:00 AM - Skills Open on 2 Fields
5:30 PM - Skills Fields Closed; Fields still open for driver practice.
5:30 - 6:30 PM - Dinner: Homestyle Western BBQ: Hotdogs, Vegetarian Chilli, Chips, Pop.
6:45 PM - Movie Night in the Theater (optional)
9:00 PM - Venue Closed

Sunday, January 28th:

8:00 AM - Pits Open; Inspection for any new arrivals
9:00 AM - Skills Open on 2 fields; Judging Open
11:00 AM - Skills Closed; Driver Meeting
11:15 - 12:00 Matches start
12:00 - 12:30 - Lunch; Judging Closed;
12:30 - 4:00 - Qualifying Maches
4:00 - 5:00 - Elimination Matches

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of an emergency that requires the cancellation of the event, coaches and team mentors will be asked to get in touch with families to arrange for safe transit home.

Refund and Payment Policies

This is a two-day event with a single fee. The cost ($80) covers the full weekend. There are no discounts if you only come on Sunday.

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

No cost to teams if the event partner needs to cancel the event.

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Please contact the event parter if you need to be withdrawn from the event. Full refunds will be issued to teams who withdraw more than one week prior to the event and also for special circumstances.

 

If a team attends on Saturday but is unable to return on Sunday to compete.

They will still need to pay the full price ($80)

Health and Safety Policies

Student first responders will be on site during the event for any minor injuries.

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In addition to the above Judged and Performance awards, teams also have a chance to earn unique special awards offered nowhere else!

Special Awards

 
Best Dressed in the Pacific Northwest Award This is for a team that takes the "Western" part of our event very seriously, dressing the part.
Most Dapper Robot Award This is for a team that has a very well DECORATED robot, also matching the western theme. Creative use of plastic and other non-functional decorations are encouraged.
