Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of bad weather, the event will cancelled.

Refund and Payment Policies

In the event is canceled by the event partners, a full refund of any funds received by the event partners will be issued to participating teams.  Please know that $5 in funds go to the REC Foundation and are not received by the event partners are not refundable.

The event partners will make every attempt to honor refund requests if teams notify the event partners prior to 1/1/2024.  If a team can be replaced with someone from the waitlist, a refund will be issued.

Refunds cannot be issued to registered teams who fail to attend the event with no prior notification.

Judging Format

• All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judgess on the day of the event to be evaluated by judges.
