General Info
Hello!
We are so excited to host the Hartselle Tiger Tournament and add another event to the North Alabama Area!
Hartselle is a beautiful city and the school is easy to access from the interstate.
We will have concessions with options for breakfast, lunch, and snacks throughout the day.
We plan to have 3 fields. We will run skills challenges in the morning and matches in the afternoon.
We will update which awards qualify to state once our district's Event Manger assigns qualification spots.
We will offer 2 Excellence Award Winners (Middle School Team and High School) if we have the minimum of 10 teams from each grade level attend.
Last year was our first year to host, and we learned a lot. There will be some changes to the layout at well as more extensive volunteer training prior to the event. We hope you will join us for an exciting day!

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.
For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Volunteer
We would love to have additional volunteers help us! All day volunteers will recieve a complementary lunch. Please email Cheyenne Moses at [email protected] if you would like to volunteer!
Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
In the event of bad weather, the event will be rescheduled. This is one of the last events for teams to qualify for state in North Alabama, and we do not want to remove this opportunity.
Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels for any reason other than weather, a refund will be offered minus the $5 REC Foundation keeps.
If the event is rescheduled due to weather, a refund will not be offered due to the cost incurred to host the compeition. If at all possible, we will try to host the next day if weather is a factor.
If a team's coach cancels, a refund will not be available due to the cost incurred to host the competition.
Judging Format
Our plan is currenlty to have All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
Our backup plan if we will be:
Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
We ask that you be prepared to either. When we send out the final information, we will let you know if we need to move to the backup plan.
