General Info

Welcome to the Capital Area STEM Network Center V5 Tournament!   This will be an in-person tournament and will include judging and robot skills.  Fees must be paid by 1/12/23 in order to compete.  After 1/12, any teams who are not paid will forfeit their spot so that waitlisted teams may be offered a chance to participte. All Consent Form Submissions must be in RobotEvents PRIOR to arrival at the Tournament.  Additional details about parking and concesssions will be provided as we get closer to the event. 

All approved events and event attendees are required to follow all local, state, federal, or any other government ordinances regarding COVID-19 safety procedures, social distancing, and best hygiene practices. We will continually assess, based on current government guidelines, whether to postpone, cancel, or significantly reduce the number of attendees when necessary

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Agenda

We plan to finish at 4:30pm with an hour break for lunch.  If we are running behind, lunch will be shortened.  Note that if the judges are trying to interview you and you are not available, they will leave a tag so you can call them back for an interview.  All interviews must be completed by the end of lunch.)

9-12:00 Skills Challenge Opens - 3 Driver and 3 Programming Attempts Max, Skills will not be open in the afternoon session as the skills field will turn into a practice field

9 Begin Qualification Rounds, Judging and Team Interviews Begin 

12:00-1 PM Lunch, vendors will be on-site.  Off site food is allowed to be brought in.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

The event will be indoors. If LSU allows the campus to remain open, the event will occur with unattending teams forfiting entry fee.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: Refunds will be issued.

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: Refunds will not be issued for any cancellations other than by the event partner. 

 

Judging Format

  •  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. Deadline for submission of electronic engineering notebooks is Wednesday January 17th by 8 AM.
