Event Description
The VEX Robotics World Championship, presented by the Northrop Grumman Foundation, will take place April 25 through May 3, 2024 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas. The annual event brings together the top VEX IQ Robotics Competition, VEX Robotics Competition, and VEX U teams from around the globe to celebrate their accomplishments and participate in the 2023-2024 games to be crowned champions.
VRC teams will compete in the exciting 2023-2024 game, Over Under, to earn a spot at this prestigious event.

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
Teams will be notified, via email, if any event occurs that would jeopardize the VEX Robotics World Championship.
Refund and Payment Policies
VEX Robotics World Championship registration cancellations must be received by 5:00 PM, CT on April 4, 2024, in order to receive a full refund. All cancellations must be emailed to [email protected] with the team number and the contact information for the team. Teams that cancel after 5:00 PM, CT on April 4, 2024, will not receive a refund for their registration fee.
Note: In order to be "paid in full" by the deadline, complete payment of registration fees must be received by the REC Foundation Accounting Department.
Health and Safety Policies
To ensure the health and safety for all participants, we ask that all registered teams take the time to review the policies and guidelines listed below, including the links provided. By registering your team for the event, you are acknowledging these policies and guidelines and your agreement to comply with such policies and guidelines for the duration of the event.
The REC Foundation’s Code of Conduct
We hold ourselves and our community accountable for respectful, safe, and ethical conduct at all REC Foundation-hosted or sanctioned events, per our Code of Conduct.
COVID-19 Policy
In accordance with the latest Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas (KBHCCD), local, state, and national guidelines, the REC Foundation will not require masks to be worn inside or outside the event. Individuals are encouraged to make their own choice regarding the wearing or not wearing of a mask.
If you or your team members feel sick while you are in attendance at the event, we ask that you follow the CDC recommendations of:

Security and Safety
The REC Foundation, in partnership with KBHCC security, the Dallas Police Department, and DART police, will provide additional security support for the duration of the event. The facility is open to the general public, so we advise all teams to keep valuable items with you or take the proper security measures to protect your valuable items.

All attendees are asked to book their hotel accommodations through Team Travel Source, the Official Housing Company for the VEX Robotics World Championship. Note: When planning travel dates/times, keep in the mind the following:
- Teams should arrive at the venue by 8AM on their first day of competition.
- Teams must depart after closing ceremonies.

Know Before You Go
VEX World Robotics Championship Policies
Please review the following VEX Worlds policies.:

Service Animal Policy: NO animals are allowed at VEX Worlds except for Service Animals. Specifically, a Service Animal means any dog that is trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability.
Pets providing emotional support, well-being, comfort or companionship are not recognized as service animals under ADA Regulations. -
Credit and Debit Cards Only. No Cash is accepted at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.

No Public Wifi Available. Wifi interferes with the technology needed to run matches and will not be available within the venue.

No Outside Food and Drink Permitted. Food is available for purchase at several locations within the venue via credit card or meal vouchers.

No Permitless Carry
Pursuant to section 30.05, penal code (criminal trespass), a person may not enter this property with a firearm. -
Concealed Handguns Prohibited
Pursuant to section 30.06, penal code (trespass by holder of license to carry a concealed handgun), a person licensed under subchapter H, chapter 411, government code (concealed handgun law), may not enter this property with a concealed handgun. -
Openly Carried Handguns Prohibited
Pursuant to section 30.07, penal code (trespass by license holder with an openly carried handgun), a person licensed under subchapter H, chapter 411, government code (handgun licensing law), may not enter this property with a handgun that is carried openly.

No Drugs/Alcohol permitted pursuant to the REC Foundation code of conduct.

No Flags in the Dome. With the exception of flags representing your country or tribal nation, no flags may be brought into the Dome. Spectators may bring hand held rally signs to cheer their teams.

No Open Flames, Fireworks, or balloons that float.

No Smoking or Vaping or fog machines Within the Venue.

Seating In The Dome Is Limited. Priority given to participating teams. For overflow, finals will be streamed into the divisions.

Code of Conduct. Everyone entering the venue must abide by REC Foundation’s code of conduct. Review the Code of Conduct here.

Teams May Decorate Their Pit Area. Only tape is permitted to affix decor to the pit area.

Pit size = 8' x 8', constructed of pipe and drape. Any items brought to the event must fit inside this area, including practice fields.

Pipe and drape can't be removed. Pits may not be combined (structural + safety issues)

1 table, 2 chairs, 1 wastebasket will be provided in pit

These items, plus any items the team brings must be contained within the pit at all times per Fire Marshall policy and security

All items to be used in pit (example: Chairs, tables) must remain in pit area.

Pit Areas Are Not Secure. Please be mindful of your belongings. VEX Robotics and the REC Foundation are not responsible for missing or lost items.

Lost And Found. For lost and found and missing children, visit the Pit Admin.

Secure Your Robot. Teams are encouraged to take their robots from the venue at the end of the day.
