General Info

The Chaminade Showdown will be held in the Bob Hope Center on the Campus of Chaminade College Preparatory High School in West Hills, CA. We will be running skills as well as two competition fields and a practice field, possibly two. We expect to have another great group of judges and volunteers and look forward to a fun day for all.

We are initially limiting registration to 3 teams per school, however, a 4th team may be added from the wait list if room becomes available. Wait list preference will be given to rookie teams and to schools that host or co-host an event of their own. If you have a team on the wait list and are a rookie team, or are hosting or co-hosting an event in the 2023-24 season, please email [email protected] with the team or event information, and you will be given priority.

Teams are expected to conduct themselves with the sportsmanship and gracious behavior that are core values in VEX robotics competitions.  Judges and referees will give strong consideration to these traits in students and adults when considering teams for awards. All teams are expected to follow the school's general rules of conduct. Teams who fail to comply may be disqualified from the tournament without a refund.

Teams must be checked in no later than 8:00 AM. Teams running late must contact Tommy Smeltzer at 818-415-6376 to avoid being removed from the event.

We always welcome input and support from our fellow teams and encourage you all to consider volunteering as a judge or support staff.

We look forward to seeing you all at the Showdown!

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.
