General Info
The Chaminade Showdown will be held in the Bob Hope Center on the Campus of Chaminade College Preparatory High School in West Hills, CA. We will be running skills as well as two competition fields and a practice field, possibly two. We expect to have another great group of judges and volunteers and look forward to a fun day for all.
We are initially limiting registration to 3 teams per school, however, a 4th team may be added from the wait list if room becomes available. Wait list preference will be given to rookie teams and to schools that host or co-host an event of their own. If you have a team on the wait list and are a rookie team, or are hosting or co-hosting an event in the 2023-24 season, please email [email protected] with the team or event information, and you will be given priority.
Teams are expected to conduct themselves with the sportsmanship and gracious behavior that are core values in VEX robotics competitions. Judges and referees will give strong consideration to these traits in students and adults when considering teams for awards. All teams are expected to follow the school's general rules of conduct. Teams who fail to comply may be disqualified from the tournament without a refund.
Teams must be checked in no later than 8:00 AM. Teams running late must contact Tommy Smeltzer at 818-415-6376 to avoid being removed from the event.
We always welcome input and support from our fellow teams and encourage you all to consider volunteering as a judge or support staff.
We look forward to seeing you all at the Showdown!

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
We expect to play come rain or shine. Most of the event will be held inside. However, in the event of inclement weather, we will have a covered open breezeway for concessions, so weather-appropriate attire is recommended.
The event partner will contact teams if the event must be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. Teams should make sure their contact information is up to date in their Robotevents.com account and includes both school and non-school phone numbers.
Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels the event:
Teams must request a refund by emailing [email protected] and provide payment information including: Payee, mailing address, number of teams being refunded, and primary financial contact email and phone number. Refunds may take up to 45 days to process. Refunds requested after November 30th will be made at the discretion of the event partner. Transaction fees deducted by Robot Events are not refundable.
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: Refunds may be requested up until October 18th by emailing [email protected] and may take up to 45 days to process. Refunds after that time are made at the discretion of the event partner.
