Welcome to the Gateway Veteran's Day Challenge! 

An email will be sent to coaches for pizza orders prior to the event. Money for pizza orders will be due at team registration on the event day. 

Consessions will be available for spectators.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Volunteer

Volunteer Coordinator: Shawnna Combes

Experience Level: No Previous experience is needed for most volunteer positions.

Time Commitment: You can register for an entire day, or just a portion of the day as your schedule permits for most positions.

Meals: Lunch and hospitality area provided for all volunteers.

Volunteer Positions Needed: 

  • Judges for Design Award (All Day Commitment, no previous experience required 8:00 am to 2:00 pm)
  • Skills Field Administrator (Adult)
  • Head Referee  (Adult)
  • Referees (Adults)

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

The event may be rescheduled in case of emergency/bad weather. Coaches will be contacted if issues arise

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Refunds will be issued 6 weeks from date of the event if event partner cancels event.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Refunds will not be given to teams cancelling less than two weeks before the competition. Refunds will be sent out around 6 weeks from the event who cancel in due time. If teams registered and paid through robotevents we must receive the funds from robotevents first, this some times takes 3-6 months. Refund from robotevents will deduct 10%

Judging Format

Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
