General Info
NWI (Northwest IN) Friday Nights Blended Robo Invitational League
We’re excited to provide an opportunity for Northwest Indiana teams within a 50-mile radius, to join the NWI VRC Robotics League for some friendly, Friday night competition. Please sign up on the Waitlist to be considered for the leagues. Selections will be based on REC procedure, and if a team is not State qualified or not competed in a Signature Event.
Hosted by Portage Robotics, The Porta-Botz!, the league will occur on five Friday nights. (4 Qualifiers, 1 Championship) The first four will be qualifiers. The final evening will culminate in the Championship. The league is limited to 36 robotic teams. Individual Team competition schedules will be divided up among the 4 of the 5 Fridays. Skills will be offered each night. There will be Notebook Judging and the Alliance Selection prior to the Championship Friday.
League Qualifying Event Dates:
- Nov. 3, Dec. 8, Jan. 12, Jan. 19. All 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM CST
League Championship:
- Feb. 16. 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Arrival by 4:00 PM CST:
- Enter through Door "G" (Facing US Hwy 6).
- Bus and parking available in lot behind PHS West at Door G" facing highway 6
- Student waivers must be completed online.
- 3 elevated, portable Arenas are located in PHS West Room B19 (Robotics Room) 1 for Skills, 2 for Competition.
- Pits are located in connected and adjacent lab classrooms B16, B18 & B14. Please bring an extension cord.
- Limited Concessions will be available.
- Restrooms available.
- Facility is ADA accessible.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
In the event of qualifying tournament cancellation by host or due to weather, phone calls/emails will be made ASAP.
The League would then be shortened by one qualifying night and schedules modified.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
In the event a team needs to cancel at qulaifying date, match schedules will be modified to accomodate.
Should a coach need to withdraw entirely, refunds will be handled on a case by case basis.

Simply put, if you are sick or are experiencing symptoms, please stay home.
Should a large scale health emergency arise, we will follow the Porter County Department of Health guidelines.

Judging Format
- All In-Person Judging.
- The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event.
- Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges at Check-in
- Judging will take place in the pits.
