General Info

We're excited to host this tournament at Ridgeland High School! It should be a fun and fast-paced event with multiple match fields, a skills field, and a practice field, along with bleachers set up for plenty of audience space. Concessions will be available on site. 

Big thanks to all the volunteers helping us run this event to ensure everything goes smoothly. 

 

Here are a few reminders to address before the event to ensure your team is ready for competition:

1. Make sure your teams have read the most current version of the Over Under Game Manual and are familiar with all the rules. Check the official VEX forums and VEX website for rule updates and changes. Teams are welcome to complete referee certification training to be fully aware of the rules. 

2. Make sure all your robots will pass inspection. The inspection checklist can be found here

3. Carefully read all of the information contained in the tournament posting, including the descriptions and criteria for the awards that are being given during the tournament. 

4. Pack for the event the day before departure. Here are a few items you don't want to forget:
* Safety Glasses
* Spare parts & tools
* Batteries and chargers
* Programming cable
* Power strip
* Laptop computer
* Engineering notebook
* Banners and other decorations for your pit area

5. Prep for your interviews with the judges. 

6. Remember that safety is the number one priority. Please don't bring tools that pose a safety risk to your team or others nearby. Also remember no grinding or other actions that create sparks.

7. Ensure that you have the latest version of firmware.

8. All participants must complete the participant release form (also available in Spanish). Once per season covers all events.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the case of bad weather, cancellation/delay decisions will be made based on the local school district policy. 

If the case of a cancellation, we will attempt to reschedule the tournament at a later date. 

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

We will try to reschedule the event at a later date. If the event is not rescheduled we will refund teams all but the $5 kept by RECF.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

No refunds will be given.

Travel Info

The main parking lot is in the back of the school. The main entrance is toward the middle of the building. Signs will be provided on the day of the event. 

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
