General Info

This is our first invitational tournament and we trust it will be fun and exciting for all who compete. This will be the last tournament of the season with the opportunity to qualify for the Indiana State Championship.

If you would like to be invited, please place your team on the wait list. We will be deciding how we select the teams to be invited sometime before 1/1/2024. Only teams on the wait list will be considered.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Agenda

Doors open at 7:30 AM

Inspections open at 7:30 AM

We will start the driver's meeting promptly at 9:00 AM.

Morning qualifications will start at 9:45 AM and run to 12:15 PM

Afternoon qualifications will start at 12:45 PM and run to 3:15 PM

Alliance selection will start by 3:30 PM

Eliminations will start by 4:00 PM

Awards will immediately follow the finals

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

We do not anticipate any bad weather in March that would cause us to cancel the event. In the off chance that we get that sort of weather or have that sort of emergency, we wiil contact everyone via email.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: I won't cancel the event unless there is an act of God. I have never canceled an event in the several years of hosting tournaments.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

The basic policy is that there are no refunds. We may consider exceptions on a case by case basis. If you have a story that makes me cry, we might consider a refund.

Judging Format

 

  •  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. The submission deadline is March 1st by 7:00 PM.
