General Info

This event will be a HIGH School Only Tournament for Kansas Teams only, and will serve as a LAST CHANCE to qualfiy for the KS State Tournament. This tournament is only for HS VRC teams that have not yet qualified for the KS state tournament as of the end of the day on Saturday, February 17th. See the following bulleted statements about registering teams and swapping. Let me know if you will be bringing payment with you on the 24th or submitting payment to the REC.  This tournament will be complete with trophies from the Robotics Education and Competition Foundation and be open to only KS HS teamsThis Event will have 6 qualification rounds per team.  There will be an on-site concession stand for lunch.  Thank you so much for registering for the CHENEY CARDINAL VEXcellence Robotics LAST CHANCE tournament.

  • The teams per organization limit will be set to 3, but  if you have more than 3 teams who want to come, put them on the waitlist and we  will fill any empty spots during the week before.
  • Coaches can sign up any three of their teams early on, but if they qualify at some point in the season they can swap them out for another unqualified team in their organization the week before the event. So in essence each coach is reserving 3 spots at the event, and the coach can decide which teams will come as we get closer to the event.

Competition Preparation:

This event is sure to be a fast-paced and exciting event. All teams should come prepared for competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are prepared...

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

A decision will made the day before the meet whether or not to cancel the meet. Since this meet comes right before the State Tournament, there would be no time left to reschedule.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: A refund will be given.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: Refunds may be requested up to 7 days prior to the event. The event partner reserves the right to issue refunds on a case by case basis to teams requesting them under 7 days prior to the event based on extenuating circumstances, but this is not guaranteed.

$5 will be subtracted from all refunds to cover the RECF's per team fee.

Health and Safety Policies

Use common sense in deciding if you are too sick to attend. If, in your judgement, you are "too sick to go to school" then you are probably too sick to go to a robotics tournament.
