We don't get a cut from the hotel, but if you stay at this hotel, we will provide transportation on the day of the event. You can take the subway from the airport or the train station to the hotel. Please check the hotel's website for more info.

Transportation:

Hotel to TIS
7:30am on Feb 23 ~ Bus will leave the Hotel to TIS. Will have Tianjin International School printed on the side of the white and blue bus. There will be enough room for both your luggage and robots. This cost is included in your registration.

7:30am on Feb 24 ~ Bus will leave the Hotel to TIS. Will have Tianjin International School printed on the side of the white and blue bus. There will be enough room for both your luggage and robots. This cost is included in your registration.

TIS to the Hotel, airport, train station, or subway stop
5pm on Feb 23 ~ Bus will leave TIS for the hotel

3:30PM on Feb 24 ~ Depending on your needs, we can arrange your return ground transportation for an additional cost.

Note: Though Tianjin has a very good subway system, the subway stop is too far away to carry your Robot. Taxis will most likely be a tight fit for your Robots if they are in hard cases. If you would like a private van or have any other transportation questions, please contact Dawn Williams. There will be an additional cost for it.

Meals and Snacks at TIS


Lunch and a snack bag on Feb 23 and Feb 24 is included with the registration. There are free water dispensers throughout the school. Additional snacks can be purchased at designated areas.

Payment information

**Note** Payment must be made in RMB by wire transfer or cash. When you do the checkout process while joining the tournament choose pay later, and we will send you an invoice to the provided contact email. The charge will be ¥800 per team up to 4 students members and 3 staff members, additional ¥60 per team member beyond that.

Cost is ¥800 per team up to 4 student team members and 3 staff members, and additional ¥60 charge per student/staff member above these amounts

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Full refund

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Full refund up through Feb 10, partial refunds considered after that day. No refund given after Feb 20

Judging Format

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day(s) of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges at the start of the event. Robotics notebooks may not be accepted after team check-in and robot inspection closes on the Feb 23. All robotics notebooks should be printed in advance if needed, please do not request help printing your notebook at the event!
