Robot Skills Challenge Offered: Yes

Judging Format: In-Person judging

We are Planning on having an in-person event with 7 Qualification matches, alliance selection then elimination rounds. Skills and Judging are optional. The event will be held in-person at our Main Gym. We will use the field house for the Pit area. These areas are all centrally located on the south-east side of the building. We plan to offer consessions during qualification rounds at our event. Specators will be asked to eat at the tables in the main lobby and or at the pits. 

Safety is a primary concern in VEX robotics and this event will meet or exceed all COVID safety protocols.  Requirements for attending this event are:

We offer On-site parking and convenient drop off at our campus for all teams. Please enter through the main entrance of the school. There will be a checkin table for all teams to check. Drop off engineering notebooks at the checkin table. 

LATE Arrivals: Teams must be checked in 45 minutes prior to the start of the qualification matches so that the match schedule may be printed. Teams must contact the event partner if they are running late or they will be removed from the team list for the event. 

Team Payment: Teams must be paid two weeks prior to the event. Teams not paid at this time may be dropped at the event partner's discretion to allow teams in from the wait list. Due to increase shipping costs our price to run the event has gone up. 

Currently we are working with the layout of the practice fields to ensure that social distancing can be maintained between teams.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

We live in Illinois. Prepare for anything but we are hoping for safe travel conditions. If conditions are not safe we will update all teams Primary contacts for these changes.  We will also post on the General Tab if the event is canceled. 

Refund and Payment Policies

If the event partner cancels the event we will issue full refunds for registration.

If a Coach or Mentor completes registration for the LPHS event then chooses to withdraw or not attend then they are still resposible for all charges. There will be no refunds for teams who withdraw or do not attend the event. 

Health and Safety Policies

We will follow the DuPage County Regional Office of Education recommendations that are in line with the IDPH and CDC. Currently masks are mandatory and all students should maintain 3 to 6 feet of seperation to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Any persons competitng/attending the event that are not following the IDPH guidlines will be asked to leave.

Judging Format

In Person Judging 

Drop off Engineering Notebooks at the main entrance during team signin at the start of the event. All engineering notebooks must be turned into judges by 8:00AM. 

 

Awards include Excellence Award, Design Award and Judges Award.
