General Info

Kennedy Robotics clubs re delighted to be hosting the VRC Over Under qualifying tournament. This tournament will qualify teams to the Southern New York Regional Championships. Our event is being held at John F. Kennedy High School, 3000 Bellmore Ave, Bellmore, NY 11710.

The event day is: January 27th, 2024

Our event will be held in the main gym. We will have 3 fields with a skills field and a practice field within the space. Spectators are welcome to watch from the bleachers but not allowed in the pit area. The team Pit area will be located in the back of the same gym. Snacks will be sold by our Culinary Program "CHAMP". The cafeteria will be open for the spectators and team members to enjoy their food. The Champ program will also be placing pizza orders for the teams.

Lunch will be provided to volunteers cooked by our in-house CHAMP students.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Volunteer

An email for volunteer sign up will be sent out closer to the event date. Please sign up for any volunteer positions, any help is greatly appreciated and needed!

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If the school is closed due to bad weather or any situation that is outside of our immediate control the event can be rescheduled to a later date.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: If it is completely cancelled by the Event Partner a refund will be issued. Any team that paid with a credit card will need to provide the school with proof of the charge to the card (sorry this is district policy)

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: 

You may recieve a refund if you withdraw before 2 weeks of the competition date. If you do not show you are still liable for registration fees since the spot was saved for you at the competition. Any team that paid with a credit card will need to provide the school with proof of the charge to the card (sorry this is district policy)

 

Judging Format

 

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
