Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Volunteer

Each attending school is requested to supply one adult or student volunteer. This will help in each school having a representative in the overall process. It is important that things are handled in a fair and objective manner. With every school participating not just in the competition, but in the other "behind the scenes" activities, it will provide an improved and better product for our students to compete in.

Anybody interested in volunteering please contact me via email at [email protected] or [email protected]

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of inclement weather and the tournament is unable to go as scheduled, an alternate date will be examined. And if an alternate date can not be scheduled, A refund will be issued minus REC $5.00 fee. Each team(s) may select to apply their registration to a future event in which that team(s) has not already registered for and is CEMaS Affiliated.

Refund and Payment Policies

Payment Deadline

Please have payment conpleted by Nov. 3rd or teams could be moved to the waitlist. If you have a PO to pay, please email a copy of the PO to me, as reference.

If the Event Partner cancels the event:

There a couple of ways to accomplish this: You can request a refund minus the REC $5.00. We can apply your registration to another event that is CEMaS affiliated.  Or we could apply to the same event next year.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

It is the responsibility of the coaches/mentors to evaluate the schedules and communicate with their teams as to other activities that may be in conflict with this date. We will do our best to accommodate unforeseen circumstances, but if a team is registered and holds that spot then that team is responsible for the registration costs.

Judging Format

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
