General Info

Important reminder

Again.......*We remind all teams to submit their digital engineering notebooks before 12/9 to facilitate our judging process.

We will use digital engineering notebooks for review during this judging process, and please upload them in accordance with official regulations before December 9.
On the day of the competition, we will conduct it face-to-face, IN-PERSON. We will not collect physical engineering notebooks on the FIRST day, but each team can bring their own engineering notebooks as a presentation tool during the interview.

If the team does not upload the digital engineering notebook, it will be deemed that the engineering notebook has not been submitted and cannot be paid back on the day of registration.

According to official rules, the choice of judging format for the event rests with the Event Partner. Detailed information about judging should be found on the event page on RobotEvents. All teams at the event must submit their notebooks in the same format, regardless of their notebook's native format. A team with a physical engineering notebook will need to upload a link to a digital copy via RobotEvents, or conversely, a team with a digital engineering notebook may be asked to print it out prior to the event.

There are important things to remind all participating teams and team leaders.
First of all, our judges’ interviews will be conducted in-person, starting from 12/15 to the morning of 12/17. 
However, please submit your team’s digital engineering notes before 12/9 according to the instructions on the official website.

Second, we still welcome teams from all over the world to participate in the events we organize.

Special tour​ / Cultural & Technology Experience ​!!!! 

We have designed a special tour for participating teams on the day before the competition. It includes a visit to the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) Innovation Museum, where you can learn about the development and future prospects of Taiwan's semiconductor industry. We also have a visit to the Taiwan Space Center, where you can get up close to observe the production and operation of satellites, and there are mysterious gifts to take home. We provide introductions in both Chinese and English! The meeting time and location are set for 8:00 AM on December 14th at the main competition venue, at the entrance of Pacific American School.

The annual PAS VEX Open is just around the corner, and this year it has been expanded to become the VRC Signature Event. if you want to take the challenge to the next level of robotics and interact with teams from around the world, sign up soon. This event is open to middle school and high school teams and will provide a skills challenge. We will do our best to provide the best environment and services possible and welcome children from all over the world to come to Hsinchu to participate and make memories.    

Late Arrivals: Teams must be checked in 45 minutes prior to the start of the qualification matches so that the match schedule may be printed.

Food: Due to the control and closure of the campus and competition environment, in order to reduce the risk of the epidemic, we strictly prohibit the delivery of outside food, and the school cafe will provide drinks and snacks for sale.

(We canceled this arrangement and we decided to conduct an in-person interview. The judges’ interview will start at 13:00 on 12/15, and we will continue until around 17:30 on the first day.
In addition, regarding the submission of engineering notebooks, in order to increase the efficiency of the judging process, we still require all teams to provide digital engineering notebooks according to unified specifications. The final submission date will be 12/9.

Volunteer

Due to the large number of teams participating in this event, we are in need of a large number of volunteers to help complete this event, so if you are interested in volunteering, please let us know!
If you are interested in volunteering, please let us know and we will provide you with a certificate of service hours.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the case of bad weather conditions or possible cancellations, please visit the event on Robotevents.com where updates about the event status will be posted as needed. Event Partners will also make every effort to reach teams directly in case of an emergency. Make sure your team contact information is up to date in your robotevents.com account, as this is the information that will be used to contact your team. Teams should make sure their contact information in Robotevents.com is up to date and includes both school and non-school phone numbers.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event due to force major factors such as natural disasters and weather factors. A refund, if approved will be processed within one month of the tournament date. Refunds that are granted will not include the $5 registration fee charged by Robot Events. This policy is in place because the event partner has fixed costs that they are responsible for.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend, we do not issue refunds in these cases.

Teams who have not paid by the payment deadline will be moved to the waitlist.

Health and Safety Policies

The event partners will make the health of everyone involved in the event their first priority. Please be aware that this may cause some inconvenience.
Event partners and each team participating in the event will follow all government health and safety protocols. Event partners will follow these protocols in adjusting attendance, event times, etc. Please keep an eye out for email notifications and official website announcements.
Participating teams are also advised to pay special attention to the air travel regulations of each country.
