General Info

Welcome to the AFCEA Cyberspace Symposium Pikes Peak Classic Signature Event! This signature event kicks off a week of buzz in the Rocky Mountain region with the Rocky Mountain Cyberspace Symposium right after and throughout the week. What better way to preface conversations of cyber security, espionage and awesome technology than with some friendly robotic competition!

The Stream:

The When:

This event will take place over the course of 2 days starting with check-in and skills at 5pm on Sunday, the 19th.

The Where:

Check-in as well as the event itself will take place in the Colorado Hall which is located on the east side of the Broadmoor Campus. Parking can be found across First St. eastward of Colorado Hall, or up beside Broadmoor Hall. Check the Broadmoor Campus Map for more details...

Where you'll be competing...

 

The What:

Don't get too distracted by the beautiful 5-star Hotel venue framed by the magnificent front range. This competition will be fast paced with high stakes. In addition to multiple awards, 4 Worlds spots are up for grabs!

Also...

Fields will be elevated.

Lunch options available on site are limited.  We are providing a 1-hour lunch break for participants to venture off-campus for lunch.  The Broadmoor has a strict no-outside-food policy, so please plan accordingly for the extended afternoon match schedule.

Please remember to come prepared with all of your own power strips, tools, parts, etc.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In case of an emergency or bad weather, we will send out an event cancellation email to all coaches and volunteers as soon as that decision is made (hopefully the night before).  

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels/postpones the event:

  • Teams will be refunded $345 of the $350 event fee if the event is cancelled.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: 

  • No refunds will be given.

If you're looking for lodging options in the area, the Broadmoor offers discounted group rates. You can find them here. (Availibility may be limited around this time due to the Cyber Symposium happening later in the week). 

It might be worth giving them a call at 1-855-634-7711 and tell them you're there for the AFCEA Robotics Tournament that is happening.

 

If not at the Broadmoor there is also affordable lodging in the Southeast Colorado Springs area.

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
