Welcome to the first-ever Battle for Las Vegas VRC Signature Event sponsored by Tesla!

Las Vegas has become a global leader in innovative entertainment and is now home to the famous BattleBots arena. We have partnered with BattleBots to provide exclusive behind the scenes tours, meet and greets, and even an opportunity to see teams battle it out in the Las Vegas BattleBot arena. .

This event is more than just the competition! To ensure you get the most out of your Las Vegas experience, we are also working on additional unique events for teams to participate in every evening. Some of these may include:

Hotel and Event Information:

Location: The Westgate, the iconic off- strip hotel, where Elvis had his Las Vegas residency. This is right next to the Las Vegas Convention Center with access to the Monorail.

Room block rate: $101/night Sunday-Tuesday, $169/night Friday and Saturday (includes taxes, resort fees and parking)

*Resort fees are only included when booked within the room block.

Meals

We worked with the Westgate Fresh Buffet to provide an iconic, all-you-can-eat, Las Vegas buffet that will also be quick and accommodate all dietary restrictions.

Every team registration will include one complimentary ticket for lunch on February 6th and 7th at the Westgate Fresh Buffet.

Teams are encouraged to purchase additional lunch buffet tickets as soon as possible, since these are limited. Purchases can be made at shop.competitionpros.org by January 17th, pending availability.

We have also worked with the Westgate on providing teams quick service for breakfast and afternoon snacks being sold in our competition area.

To purchace the discounted tickets to the Exclusive 45-minute BattleBots Show including the Q&A with the owners of BattleBots, click on the different ticket options. There is no limit on how many tickets you can purchase, so if you need 16 tickets, puchase one 4-pack and two 6-packs. These are available to all teams, coaches, friends, family, and whomever you would like to invite. It is exclusive to you and your guests.

All shows are on Monday, February 6th.

Limited parking available.

It is advised to take an uber/lyft or the Las Vegas Monorail from Westgate to the Flamingo/Caesars stop. Then it is a 8 minute walk to the tented facility. Total time is ~25 minutes.

Monorail passes are $5, but we are working to get these discounted or free. No need to purchase tickets in advance.

This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Las Vegas is known for its great weather in the winter! However, in the case of an emergency/bad weather we will make adjustments to the agenda and notify all teams via email.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels/postpones the event:

Refunds will only be made if the event is canceled by the host.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Registrations will not be refunded for teams that register but choose not to come.

Judging Format

All Remote Judging - The Initial Team Interviews will be conducted remotely, and Engineering Notebooks will be submitted to judges digitally via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. Initial Interviews and Notebook submission deadlines will be scheduled ahead of the event date, with Notebook submissions due by January 16, 2023. Notebooks submitted on or after January 17th will not be accepted.

How to Submit a Digital Engineering Notebook

In-Person Judging - Teams who scored high on their initial interview will be given a follow-up interview in-person at the event. Teams who did not sign up or attend their initial remote interview will not be judged or eligible for awards.
