  • This is a 100% standard event with standard judging- safety measures like hand sanitizer will still be in place
  • All notebooks must be physical, meaning digital notebooks need to be printed out and bound ahead of time
  • This is a High School AND Middle School VRC tournament, if we have enough MS orgs/teams in attendance we will offer the MS Excellence Award

This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

In the event that nature, COVID shutdowns or some unforeseen circumstance cancels our event, we will try to reschedule for the next weekend. There are still no circumstances where refunds will be given.

Registrations for this event are nonrefundable.

Health and Safety Policies

Note: Failure to follow any of the outlined health and safety procedures can result in your team being asked to leave the event and/or a REC Foundation Code of Conduct violation. We are taking the health and safety of everyone involved very seriously.

  • The use of a COVID self-screener or temperature check may be utilized at the EP's discretion. More details to be sent closer to the day of the event
  • Hand washing/sanitizing will be required at each area entry point.
  • Avoid touching your face.  Properly sanitize your hands frequently.
  • Hand sanitizer is available at all entrances and competition fields.

Visiting teams should park in front of Lovejoy High School and enter the building at the main entrance, in the middle. 

Busses are able to drop students off in the front of the school but then should park behind the school in the parking lot.

Judging Format

At this event we will have:

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.

We are still looking for a few judges from the schools attending to add variety and promote a healthy balance in the judges present. If you have a person (teacher, parent, volunteer.. etc) willing to judge all day Jan. 28th please let us know by emailing Coach Strickland at [email protected]

Concessions

We are planning to serve breakfast items and an assortment of other snacks and drinks. 

The concession stand can accept cash or credit/debit cards, and is not serving lunch items.
