Hamilton Heights Robotics is excited to host the Vex Robotics Spin Up Tournament.
Our goal is to provide you and your team with a fun and well-run competitive event.
Venue: We will be hosting our competition in our new Middle School Athletic Center. This large space has ample seating and allows for the pits and playing fields to be near one another.
Coach View Area: We will have an area that is designated for coaches only. This is the 2nd story of our building that overlooks all of the competition. We want to give you your own area to watch all of the competition and talk to other coaches.
Parking: GPS will direct you to our Middle School entrance off of State Road 19. You will enter on the south side of the building. Drive around back to drop off teams and equipment. If you have a bus, we will direct your bus driver to a parking lot on the north side of the building for easy access to leave after the competition.
Doors Open 9:00 AM: We know that many teams must drive long distances to attend competitions across the state of Indiana. We wanted to give you as much time as possible to get to our event, so enjoy the extra hour sleep!
Pits: There will be plenty of space for your teams at our event. Each pit will have electricity, one table and multiple chairs. Bring an extra powerstrip and cord if you want.
Check-In: To keep our tournament on schedule, check-in will close promptly at 10:15. The Drivers meeting will begin promptly at 10:15. Please call if there is an emergency that causes you to run late on the morning of the tournament. ( 317-753-9079 )
Release forms: A Participant Release Form must be filled out by all participants by November 6th.
Notebooks: If your team is submitting a notebook, please have a paper copy ready for our judges.
Lunch and Concessions: Our campus is located outside of town and the options for food are limited. To address these issues, we will offer a variety of options for lunch. We will update you with a more detailed menu as we get closer to the event. Hot Dogs, Pulled Pork sandwiches, Donuts, coffee, chips, candy, and beverages will also be available for purchase at our concession stand.
TEAM LUNCH UPDATE: We will have an area when you check in to sign up for lunch packages. For you teams - we will have a Hot Dog Meal (Hot dog, chips, drink and cookie) for $5.00 We will have a Pulled Pork Sandwich Meal (Pulled Pork, chips, drink and cookier) for $ 8.00. Coaches have the option of pre-ordering these lunch at check in and will be given a voucher for each type of meal per student. We will bring the food to the pit area for pick up at the lunch break. If your student loses their voucher ticket they will not be given a meal.
If you just want your kids to pay for their own lunches when they are ready, they will need to stand in line at the concession stand.
Inspections: Coaches, please help speed up our inspection process by checking your students' robots prior to the day of event, as well as making sure firmware to the brain is updated.
Skills Field: Your team may enter the skills field line as soon as you have passed inspection. The skills field will close promptly when qualification matches are complete.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
In case of bad weather conditions or possible cancellations please visit the event on Robotevents.com where I will post updates about the event status as needed in the General description. I will also send an email to mentors/coaches on the contact list.
Under normal circumstances, there will be no refunds for this event. Refund requests must be made by email to the Event Partner within three days after the event. If a refund is granted, we cannot offer a full refund due to the costs incurred in the setup of the event.

Hamilton Heights School Corporation is located in northern Hamilton County. Our school campus is located on State Rd. 19 between Arcadia and Cicero, Indiana.

In-Person Judging - We take judging very seriously and we strive to bring your teams an excellent in-person judging experience. We will have a panel of 8-10 judges. Each team will be interviewed at least once. Teams should bring a physical copy of their Engineering Notebook to submit to the judges.
