General Info

Welcome to the 3rd annual Native American VEX VRC Showcase Event, hosted by the White Mountain Apache Tribe of Whiteriver, Arizona, the Whiteriver Unified School District and Apache Behavioral Health Services.

This event is designed to allow Native American VEX VRC teams from the across North America to come together to enjoy a fun robotics competition and showcase their culture.  Teams are encouraged to prepare a PowerPoint (or similar) presentation on their local culture, that can be shown online.    Please contact Bruce Goode at [email protected] for instructions on any cultural presentations or exhibits your team may bring.

Teams must be either a Native American Reservation School Team,  Tribal School Team,  or Native American/ First Nations Team (defined as at least 50% or more of the students on that team are recognized as Native or Indigenous) to be eligible to compete.  Teams wishing to participate but have not yet registered for the event may send an email to [email protected] and your Native Amrican team will be manually added to the event.

Interviews for Judged Awards will be begin Friday morning, November 18.  Engineering Notebook submission must be hard copy. Please print if currently electronic.

This event will qualify 4 spots to Worlds, as follows:

Excellence Award - Middle School - 1 spot

Excellence Award - High School - 1 spot

     Tournament Champions - 2 spots

We plan to continue this tradition each year.  Last season, the pandemic changed this event to be remote and skills-only.  This year's in-person tournament event includes full alliance competition and awards.

Scheduled Judging Time Slots:  Teams will be given times for interviews after check in Friday morning with the first interview starting at 8:30 am
