General Info

Welcome to the Cathedral VEX Robotics Tournament. We look forward to hosting our second robotics tournament  This is Cathedral's sixth season as part of VEX Robotics.

This tournament is a mixed MS/HS VEX VRC Tournament. 

Please contact us if you have any concerns with registering now as we're trying to be as accommodating as possible. Since we have a small gym, some programs will be put in classrooms. If your program prefers to be in the gym or in a classroom, please contact the EP and we will be accommodating as possible

Concessions will be offered at the tournament but will be limited based on our location in New Ulm. Students are allowed to bring food and beverages to the tournament.

You will be notified of any changes as we get closer to the event.

7:30 AM: Check-in/inspection; Practice Fields Open

8:30 AM: All teams need to be checked in & notebooks turned in

9:00 AM: Check-in/Inspection closes

9:15 AM: Opening Ceremony/Team Meeting

9:30 AM: Qualification rounds begin

12:30 PM: Lunch Break

1:00 PM: Qualification rounds continue

3:00 PM: End qualifications

3:15 PM: Alliance Selection for elimination rounds

3:30 PM: Elimination rounds                                                                 

4:30 PM: Closing and Awards Ceremony

Volunteer

Please contact EP to volunteer and we accept any parent volunteers from all schools. Volunteer sign-up will available at a later date. 

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If the event is canceled, then canceled will appear in the title of the event.

Refund and Payment Policies

If a team withdraws from the tournament, refunds will not be offered.

If the tournament is canceled, we will try to reschedule. Refunds will not be offered.

Travel Info

The address for the tournament location is 600 North Washington Street, New Ulm, MN 56073. Teams should enter through the Main Entrance (by 6th North Street). Buses will should park on the street, by Washington Park (across the street from the high school). Any parents/vistors can park on the street or in the school parking lot. However, the doors by the school parking lot will be locked. 

 

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
