This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of a weather-related concern, teams will be contacted as early as possible with information on re-scheduling.

Refund and Payment Policies

Please plan carefully. There will be no refunds for cancellations at this event.

Health and Safety Policies

At the present time - we expect that masks will be mandatory for all attendees, and minimum social distancing will be enforced.  The district whose building we are using for this event currently has zero exceptions to the mask mandate for visitors, and does not allow masks with any type of vent or one-way valve, bandanas or single-layer 'neck gator' style masks.  Participants and visitors who do not comply with the school district's masking guidelines will not be permitted to enter the building.

Of course, health and safety guidelines are changing minute-by-minute.  All registered teams will receive the then-current guidelines and requirements by email the week of the event.

Judging Format

In-Person Judging is expected - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.

There is a possibility, depending upon the COVID restrictions in place at the time, however, that either of the following judging formats could be used.  Teams will be notified in advance if any changes are made to the expected judging format.

  •  Remote Team Interviews: Team Interviews will be conducted remotely, possibly before the date of the event. Engineering Notebooks will still be submitted in person the day of the event to be evaluated by judges.
  •  Electronic Engineering Notebook Submissions: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the Event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted electronically for evaluation, with a submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
