General Info
Welcome
This is Minnesota's State Championship for High school teams. This event is the largest event in Minnesota, with teams from high school, middle school, and IQ competing under one roof.
St. Cloud Technical & Community College (SCTCC) is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our students, employees, guests, and community. As the host of the VEX Robotics Minnesota Championship, we want to ensure that VEX Robotic students have the opportunity to compete in an environment where the threat of COVID exposure is mitigated. Spectator participation this year will be limited to team mentors, volunteers, and participants.
While minimizing the spectator footprint, we strongly encourage parents to volunteer to be a team mentor. Each VEX Robotic team member may have one adult parent or guardian accompany them to the competition. Team mentors cannot exceed the number of team members on each team. Parents/guardians are also encouraged to sign up as a volunteer if not serving as a team mentor.
SCTCC follows Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) guidelines, and federal OSHA standards related to COVID-19. Consistent with these guidelines, all VEX Robotic participants, coaches, mentors, and volunteers are required to follow current mitigation strategies in place including:
- Wearing of a well-fitting mask over the mouth and nose at all times
- Completion of a daily self-screening for COVID-19 symptoms. If symptoms are present, stay home
- Maintaining 6 feet social distancing whenever possible
- Washing hands frequently, avoiding touching your face, and using hand sanitizer when washing is not an option
- Reporting symptoms immediately if they begin during event (report to volunteer coordinator)
- Use seating charts and assigned partners/pods
- Follow signage including one-way, social distance markers and entry/exit
- Cooperate with contact tracing
- Comply with quarantine/isolation when deemed necessary
As the COVID-19 situation in Minnesota and the St. Cloud area evolves and changes, mitigation strategies may also be revised to accommodate new guidelines and mandates.
Thank you for your cooperation, participation and engagement as we strive to provide our VEX Robotic competitors with a safe, enjoyable, and rewarding experience.
