General Info
Welcome to the Wawasee I Tipping Point VEX VRC blended tournament! Even though we are hosting a full tournament, the Iron Pride asks that particpants be flexible as there might be differences from how tournaments are traditionally run. We hope to be hosting 60 teams at this event which will be a qualifier for the VEX Robotics Indiana State Championship. The event will offer the elimination tournament, plus the skills challenge. We will also be offering the Excellence Award, the Design Award and Judges Award, in addition to the two Tournament Champions.
We have not been guided to implement Covid-19 protocols for this tournament but if school administration or the County Health department advises us to do so by the date of the tournament they will be put into effect. Coaches will be notified by email in case of that occurence. Should that happen, tournament participants may be asked to leave the tournament if these procedures are not followed.
Our schedule for the day is approximately as follows:
8:00-9:00am - Team Registration/Inspection/Practice Matches
9:00-9:15am - Coaches Meeting
9:15-9:30am - Opening Ceremonies
9:30am-2:30pm - Qualifying Matches
2:30-3:00pm - Alliance Selection
3:00-4:30pm - Elimination Matches
4:30-5:00pm - Awards and Closing Ceremonies
5:00-5:30pm - Pack up and Depart

Coaches will be notified by email in case of that occurence. Should that happen, tournament participants may be asked to leave the tournament if these procedures are not followed. Should protocols be required they will be as follows:
- Teams should not intermix for contact tracing purposes.
- Coaches should screen their students for COVID-19 symptoms prior to departing their home school.
- Coaches should supervise their teams closely for purposes of contact tracing.
- All participants will wear masks for the duration of the tournament, unless eating, at which point a social distance of 6 feet will be observed.

- Spectators will not be allowed to enter. We will provide a livestream with a link to be distributed closer to the date of the event.
- There will be no concession stand aside from bottled drinks and pizza preorders. Pizzas are $10 for a large, single topping pizza. The link will close at 5PM Thursday, Nov 11th. http://tinyurl.com/wawaseepizza
- Though it has been a long tradition for us to have a hospitality room at our events, sadly we will not be able to provide this during the current competition season.
- Match lists will be digital through the VEX Via App.
- Check in will be done digitally through a QR code provided at the check in table.
- Teams will be located 8 feet from each other in the pits, and will not share power stations as per guidelines from the RECF.
- Please observe the one way traffic markings throughout the venue.
- Please use the hand sanitizing stations when entering and exiting the pits.
- Drive teams will maintain a distance of 6' from each other at the competition, skills and practice fields.
- Bus drivers and coaches will maintain a distance of 6' from each other in the bleachers.
- Notebooks for judged awards will be submitted digitally by Thursday, November 11th. Judging will be done remotely via Zoom. We will release more details about submitting notebooks as the event draws closer.
- Teams will sign up for 3 appointments for judging on the morning of the event. This is to ensure that all teams have the opportunity for an interview in case they need to miss an appointment due to a match or a skills run.
We hope that these guidelines will ensure a safe, and fun experience and appreciate everyone's flexibility and positivity ahead of time.
