General Info

This is the 4th annual VEX Robotics High School Signature Event. Usually we hold this event at Google. However, due to COVID related restrictions at Google we are hosting it at the India Community Center. We would love your participation! 

We strive to conduct the event in a safe manner. Please ensure you have read the Health and Safety Policies, for your own safety and others at the event.  We have also updated the travel section to provide information on discounted hotel rates. We will be updating this section periodically with additional information on things to do. We will be adding more hotels to this page soon.  We have also made a lot of arrangements to have a fun and safe event for everyone.

Qualification Requirements for NorCal VEX High School Signature Event:

In-State Calfornia Teams: 

Teams can participate in this event by qualifying for the California State Tournament or the VEX Robotics World Championships.  If your team has qualified and they would like to be considered for entry into the event, please add the team to the waitlist. 

Out-of-State California and Out-of-Country Teams:

No pre-qualification required. Please add yourself to the waiting list and we will add you into the tournament.

The Event Partners will send an invite to join based on first-come-first basis.

Since this is an REC Foundation Signature Event, we are required to have a certain number of teams registered from outside of California for this Signature Event. For those coming from out of state, please let us know if you need any financial assistance - we may waive the registration fee. Please contact the event partner first for more information.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Bad weather should not affect this event. In case of a cancellation, the event partner will contact you as early as possible. Teams should make sure their contact information in Robotevents.com is up to date and includes both school and non-school phone numbers.

 

Refund and Payment Policies

Refunds may be issued if there are teams on the waiting list that can fill your spot, and if you let us know at least three weeks prior to the event.

Health and Safety Policies

We want to highlight some important updates about the COVID precautions. Due to the rise in Omnicron variants, we will be implementing the following precautions for all the upcoming events. These requirements are based on health guidelines highly recommended by the Santa Clara County where the event is taking place.

  • All participants and guests MUST be fully vaccinated for COVID (2 doses of Moderna, 2 doses of Pfizer, or 1 dose of J&J) 

  • We also strongly recommend taking a booster shot (although we won't be enforcing it) prior to coming to the event.

  • Official proof of vaccination with your id must be shown to attend the event

  • Negative COVID test result will NOT be an acceptable option, although based on local conditions we may require this.

  • Masks must be worn at all times inside the facility

  • No food or drinks can be consumed inside the event facility

 

If you are unable to meet these above requirements and would like to cancel the registration, we will refund the amount (minus the RECF fees) prior to Jan 8th
