General Info

**All approved events and event attendees are required to follow all local, state, federal, or any other government ordinances regarding COVID-19 safety procedures, social distancing, and best hygiene practices. We will continually assess, based on current government guidelines, whether to postpone, cancel, or significantly reduce the number of attendees when necessary.

We’re  very excited that you’re considering the GTACS Tipping Point In-Person Tournament.

Small Event Backup Plan: If venue limitations exist at the time of this event, we will break the event into smaller mini-tournaments and still play LIVE.  This may include creating 2 seperate events in order to meet the person-venue limitations.

Judging:  Teams will have the opportunity to talk with Judges. Teams wishing to be eligable for all judged awards must submit an Engineering Notebook.

Skills: Skills will be available prior to the tournament start time and offered on a first come first serve basis.  All skills runs must be completed by the start of the tournamenet.  

Tournament: We will be playing in a single tournament Skills will be available only in the morning.  The Tournament will be scheduled in the afternoon.

Additional Notes:

  • Teams may only enter the skills area in the morning
  • Teams are encouraged to maintain 6 feet minimum distance between other teams unless playing in a match.
  • Masks are recommended for students and adults, regardless of vaccination status.
  • Teams are encouraged to use hand sanitizer prior to placing their robot on the field and resetting game elements.
  • Food will NOT be permitted (individual water bottles are permitted)
  • All team registrations MUST BE PAID within 2 weeks of your team registration date and at least 1 week prior to the event.  Failure to meet these payment policies may result in your team being moved to the waitlist.

  • Maximum Skills per team: 3 Driver and 3 Programming 
    • 9:00am             Skills field open for all teams (Skills not required)
    • 9:00am             Judging will begin for teams submitting notebooks
    • 12:30pm           Qualification Rounds Begin
    • 12:30pm           Judging will continue for all other teams
    • 3:30pm              Alliance Selection 
    • 4:00pm              Finals & Awards

**Food will NOT be permitted in the competition space

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

This is an In-Person Live event.  In the event of any cancelations, state restrictions or weather, we will post any cancelation updates in this section. 

The event title will also be udated to reflect "Cancelled".

Refund Policy

There are typically no refunds for this event. Please see below for our COVID-19 refund policy.

All team registrations MUST BE PAID within 2 weeks of your team registration date and at least 1 week prior to the event.  Failure to meet these payment policies may result in your team being moved to the waitlist.

COVID-19 and weather Refund Policies

If we cancel the event due to COVID-19 or any other reason, we will issue refunds for the event, reschedule the event, or apply the funds to a different event we are running at our discression.

Any refunds will be issued only after payment is received from the REC Foundation. No refunds will include the $5 that is kept by the REC Foundation for credit card processing.

Refunds will not be offered in cases where we do not cancel the event. Please consider potential travel restrictions and weather when signing up and paying for the event.

  • Masks are recommended for all students and adults, regardless of vaccination status
  • Teams are encouraged to use hand sanitizer prior to touching any common item not owned by the individual team

Please allow the necessary time to have your robot and team (students and mentor) report to their designated time for Division Tournament, Remote Interview and Skills Match.

Weather may be a factor for this event.  Allow for extra time.
