General Info
Welcome to THE BATTLE AT THE BOLT Vex Competition!
Hello Teams!
Thank you for attending the Battle at the Bolt. We are currently at capacity but if you would like to join the waitlist please add your team to the list.
MASKS are require to wear at this event. They may be removed for eating and drinking at your pit.
Participant Release Form: Participant Releases are Electronic again and need to be submitted by Oct 20th. The link is the Document Tab
Notebooks: If your team is submitting a notebook please have a paper copy ready for our judges.
Pizza: Pizza order sheets will go out the week before the tourney. You can send them back via email or the day of by 9:30AM.
Inspections: Coaches, Please help speed up our inspection time in the morning of by checking your students robots prior to the day of event and Update the Firmware to the brain. We will still be performing inspections Saturday morning but we are expecting teams may need more time asking the head referee questions.
Team Meeting: This year there are a few rules that have been changed, improved and debated. Our Head Referee and his team of score keepers are also VEXU competitors. Rest asured that they are well versed in the rules and highly passionate about the game. We encourage your teams to bring all your questions to the meeting and we will do our best to offer clarity.
Skills Field: As soon as you have passed inspection your team may enter the skills field line. We will have the GPS CODE wrapped around the perimeter. Skill field will close promtly at the start of Elimination matches. Those running skills will be brought over the elimination matches to help referee.
Qualification Matches: Our Goal is start matches at 10AM. Each team will have atleast 6 qualification matches.
Lunch: We currently have a Lunch break scheduled for our awesome volunteers at 12-1pm, this is subject to change
Alliance Selection: Our Goal is start this process around 2:30PM
Elimination Matches: One and done, no best of three for the finals.
Awards: We will be awarding 3 Judged honors ( Excellence, Deisgn and Judges) along with Tourney Champs and Skills Champion after the Finals.

Volunteer
Volunteer Coordinator: Shannon Daugherty
Experience Level: No Previous experience is needed for most volunteer positions.
Time Commitment: You can register for an entire day, or just a portion of the day as your schedule permits for most positions.
Meals: Lunch and hospitality area provided for all volunteers.
Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
The event may be rescheduled in case of emergency/bad weather. Coaches will be contacted if issues arise.
Refund and Payment Policies
Refunds will not be given to teams cancelling less than two weeks before the competition. Refunds will be sent out around 6 weeks from the event who cancel in due time. If teams registered and paid through robotevents we must receive the funds from robotevents first, this some times takes 3-6 months. Refund from robotevents will deduct 10%.
Health and Safety Policies
Hello teams we are noticing Covid numbers have been increasing. We will update robot events page with current health guidelines provided by our school and Ky Health Dept.
All approved events and event attendees are required to follow all local, state, federal, or any other government ordinances regarding COVID-19 safety procedures, social distancing, and best hygiene practices. Event Partners should continually assess, based on current government guidelines, whether to postpone, cancel, or significantly reduce the number of attendees when necessary.

Judging Format
- In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
