Welcome to the UK VRC Celebration Event!

Hosted by Merchant Taylors' School with support of REC Foundation

Welcome to the UK VRC Celebration Event for the 2020/2021 season! After what has been a difficult season for everybody, we're excited to be able to celebrate with you for an in-person event and showcase your teams accomplishments this season. We will continue to review government guideance and advice as Coronovirus restrictions are relaxed, ensuring a safe event for everyone attending.

We're also delighted to announce that the Excellence Award winners will receive an invitation to the 2022 VEX World Championship in Dallas, TX!

Social Distancing

Due to social distancing restrictions, unfortunately there are limitations on the number of people permitted inside the venue. Please read the below to ensure these are adhered to:

  • Maximum 4 members per team
  • Only one adult per team
  • No parents or spectators

We will begin to admit teams from the wait list from 10th June.

All approved events and event attendees are required to follow all government guidelines regarding COVID-19 safety procedures, social distancing, and best hygiene practices. Event Partners should continually assess, based on current government guidelines, whether to postpone, cancel, or significantly reduce the number of attendees when necessary.

We would love to hear from you if you would like to volunteer for the event. Please do consider nominating one or two members of your club to help out on the day, get in touch to let us know how many volunteers you can offer!

If the event needs to be cancelled, relocated or postponed due to adverse weather conditions all teams will be contacted using the email addresses you provide.

This is a free event. As such no refund will be offered for any travel costs you incur should the event be cancelled, postponed or relocated (for whatever reason). Please do consider this carefully before booking travel and accommodation arrangements.

Covid-19 Precautions

Following the latest government updates on June 14th, the following rules are to be adhered to...

  • Each team to limited to a maximum of 4 team members
  • There won't be a practice field as we are unable to manage mixing between teams at a practice field
  • Each team will be allocated a pit area. Teams from the same school will have pit areas together. There will be room for each school to bring a small portion of their own field and a goal so that they can practice in pit areas.
  • Masks will be encouraged but not mandatory
  • Team members will require a negative test on the night before/morning of the event
  • Schools should be aware that should one person who attended the event tests positive, then names would have to be given to test and trace (usual timescales would apply) 
  • Each team is to have just one adult chaperone/coach (2 teams from one school could have 2 adults etc)
  • Teams will be expected to follow the enhanced rules on the day and in particular the rule regarding mixing. We will encourage adult chaperones/coaches to help manage this
  • Weather permitting, the teams will have access to some outside space
  • Lunch will be provided for adults, but the team members will have to bring their own as there isn't anywhere to buy lunch from on the day
  • All pre-loads to be disinfected before each match by the field reset crew.
  • We will use the corner driver stations to ensure spacing at the field.
