General Info

Congratulations on earning a spot at the 2021 VEX Robotics CA State Championship Event [Live Remote Tournament format].

***You may register at any site that has space available for the state championship event you qualified for - please read the entire event posting before registering.***

This State Championship event will be conducted as a Live Remote Tournament using the LRT system in RobotEvents (there will be no skills challenge). Each team that registers must have their own field and game elements to participate. There will be judging and remote interviews; the only judged awards are Excellence and Design.

**Please read the entire event posting prior to registering for this Live Remote Tournament.**

  • This event will use the Live Remote Tournament format at remote.robotevents.com. Details for teams/coaches and Event Partners are published at roboticseducation.org (https://www.roboticseducation.org/about-live-remote-tournaments/).

  • Due to the nature of the Live Remote Tournament Format, organizations registering multiple teams MUST have a separate field available for every team. (1 team - 1 field, 2 teams - 2 fields, 3 teams 3 fields, 4 teams & above - 4 fields)

Participating in a Live Remote Tournament requires teams to have their own VRC field and Change Up Game Kit. If an organization (school) has multiple VRC teams registered for this event, each team will need their own field and game elements up to 4 VRC fields/sets of game elements at any one location. If your organization does not have enough fields, please contact your Regional Support Manager to determine if there are fields that your team can borrow prior to registering.

  • VRC Teams should practice using the Live Remote Tournament practice system prior to the event to ensure they have the necessary equipment and resources. Please see these Live Remote Tournament Practice Instructions for more details.
  • VRC Teams need to carefully read the VRC Change Up Game Manual on Live Remote Tournaments to ensure the field is correctly set up and teams understand the rule/scoring differences compared to an in-person tournament.
  • Teams will need to compete their technical set up and test all of their equipment prior to the event.

In addition to a full field and game elements, each registered team will need:

  • a dedicated computer with a Google Chrome Broswer
  • an external USB camera (720p or higher resolution)
  • reliable/high speed internet
  • micro USB to USB cable to connect robot controller to computer
  • their VEX V5 robot with updated firmware

Choose wisely if this is the event you are selecting. Once you register you will NOT be able to move to a different city or event. You will NOT be refunded your fee and teams will be moved to the wait list if they have not completed the payment within two weeks of registering. It is your responsibility to make sure that the payments have been processed in time. We will use the visible record of payment on robotevents.com to make the determination.
