General Info

Welcome to the 2021 Colorado VRC High School State Championship!

Teams must qualify to compete in the State Championship.  This Championship is for Colorado VRC High School Teams that have qualified for State either through qualifying events and/or from the World Skills Standings, according to the 2020-2021 Qualifying Criteria.  Teams may continue to attend qualifying events and/or post Skills Challenge scores to the World Skills Standings up until two weeks before the date of the State Championship.

You may bring in food and beverages. Other snacks and drinks will not be available due to COVID-19 pandemic and local guidelines.

The Colorado High School State Championship has been granted 3 VRC World Championship spots:

Excellence Award = 1 spot

Tournament Champions = 2 spots

If a team double-qualifies for a World Championship spot, the state’s next highest-ranking team from the World Skills Standings up to and including the State Championship receives the invitation. World Championship invitations from the World Skills Standings are issued by email after the results of the State Championship have been posted at, and will not be announced at the State Championship.

World Championship qualifying awards and invitations are issued to teams whether or not the teams have expressed an intention to attend the event. Unaccepted World Championship invitations are not offered or transferred to other teams.

At this time we are planning on a live in-person tournament.  Depending on the course of the COVID-19 pandemic and local guidelines, the event format may change.  This may include modifying event capacity or converting the event to a remote format.  Remote formats may require teams to have access to their own fields/game sets.  If changes to the event occur that are out of the control of the event hosts, and your team isn't able to comply with new event requirements, your registration fee will be refunded according to the stated Refund Policy.  Please consider these caveats before registering for the event.

We will take everyone's temperature as they come in, and reserve the right to turn away an entire team if one in the party has an elevated temperature.  We advise teams to self-check for COVID-19 symptoms before driving to the tournament to avoid a problem at check in.

The health screening questionnaire on the Health and Safety tab will be required of every team member and coach when they arrive at the event.  LINK - Health and Safety Policies Signature Document

See the 'Documents' tab above to complete the required  'Participant Release Form', Instructions HERE

Wearing masks/facial coverings and maintaining social distancing will be enforced.

In order to keep numbers down, spectators will not be allowed.  Organizations are requested to limit the number of on-site participants to essential student team members and coaches, up to 4 persons total.  Adults in this number are asked to volunteer as event staff to be able to attend.  Primary adult team contacts will receive a communication from the event host regarding total headcount and volunteer assignments.  No additional headcount will be allowed in on the day of the event that exceeds this total.

Please click on the 'Health and Safety Policies' tab above and review additional COVID-related procedures that will be implemented at this event.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.  We are looking forward to having you join us!
