Welcome to the Northwest High VRC Pre-recorded Remote Skills-Only League!
Teams will have a week to submit skills scores. After the submission deadline, skills scores will be confirmed and uploaded to the World Skills Standings. This is a remote event, so you compete from the comfort of your school classroom, living room, basement, or wherever you can set up a field. You must follow all health and safety guidelines for your area.
What do I need to participate?
In addition to a robot and controller, you will need the following:
How does this work?
On January 30th you will receive a code from me. The teams must verbally record that code at the beginning of the video and it must be visual during the skills match. You will also have to state your scroe at the end of each skills run on the video. This is to ensure accuracy in scoring.
Anytime during the week, teams may record and submit their video link with up to 3 driver and 3 programming skills runs following the rules set forth under the heading, "Skills-Only Event: Remote, Pre-Recorded" in the game manual appendix B: VRC 2020-2021 Appendix B - Skills Challenge. The deadline for submitting the video link each week is 12:01 AM on 2/6/2021. You will need to video the inspection of your robot as well. The robot should follow all the rules for inspection as you would for a regular in-person VRC event.
The skills runs must be captured as described following the rules referenced above for pre-recorded skills. The video must be uploaded to a publicly accessible platform like YouTube, Facebook Video, Google Classroom, SchoolTube, etc. Submit the video link to dreed@slpsb.org
What about judging?
There will be no judging at the event.
What if I miss submission?
If you register and fail to submit a video by the deadline, there will be no opportunity to submit a late video. There will also be no refunds once registration for the event takes place.
Will this help teams qualify for State Championship and VEX Worlds?
YES! Skills scores that are posted to the Global Skills Ranking are a vital part of the qualification process for State Championships and VEX Worlds.
