Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

It rarely rains in southern California, but if it does we may have to adjust schedule as we can ony accomodate about 8 teams indoors.  

In emergency we will contact you. In the case of conditions that may require in an event cancellation, please visit the event on Robotevents.com where updates about the event status will be posted as needed. Event Partners will also make every effort to reach teams directly in case of an emergency.  Teams should make sure their contact information in Robotevents.com is up to date and includes both school and non-school phone numbers.

Refund and Payment Policies

Policy is No Refunds, but contact me if you have special circumstances. Any refunds are at the discretion of the Event Partner and will be less the $5 RobotEvents processing fee.

Health and Safety Policies

Modified slightly in that the group number limits  are for the indoor part of the event.  All pits are outdoors. continue to wear masks and social distance while outdoors.  Limit the number of team members and parents as much as possible, no spectators.

COVID Policy for In Person Meetings

Rolling Robots’ Employees, Visitors, and Students ARE REQUIRED to answer the following questions before entering the Rolling Robots’ locations in person.

Have you been diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last 14 days?

   

Have you had close contact with or cared for someone diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last 14 days?

   

Have you experienced any cold or flu-like symptoms in the last 14 days (fever, cough, chills, shortness of breath or other respiratory problem)?

   

 

Visitors , Employees and Students who answered “YES” to any of the above questions will not be permitted to enter Rolling Robots facility.

While at Rolling Robots facility, everyone must follow these protective guidelines:

  • Limit of two activities per time period
  • Limit of 6 - 8 students per activity 
  • Work space set up for 6 feet of social distancing when possible
  • Every student will have their temperature taken via no touch, IR thermometer before entry (must be under 100F)
  • Every person entering the facility must answer the self declaration questions.
  • Staff will be training students in best practices for preventing spread of COVID-19
  • Mask wearing enforced for both staff and students
  • Masks, hand sanitizer, and hand soap are provided for every student
  • Surfaces and equipment will be sanitized before and after each session

All our activities are also now available online, so you can participate in Rolling Robots’ activity while observing the degree of social distancing that is best for your family. You can utilize the online environment to minimize contact.
