please contact the EP at aldermanm@benzieschools.net if you are interested in volunteering
In the unlikely event of the Event Partner cancelling the tournament due to bad weather, a makeup date will be scheduled. If you are unable to attend the make up date, a refund of $90 (less the $5 per team REC processing fee) will be issued.
This is an unprecedented season for VEX robotics. As we all work to navigate how to safely engage young people in robotics competitions a lot of flexibility and understanding is needed.
The refund policy is not meant to penalize any participants. It is what I feel is fair for all parties involved.
If the event is cancelled because of restrictions put forth by Benzie Central Schools, the Benzie/Leelanau Health Dept., or the State of Michigan all teams will be issued a refund of $90. This is less the $5 fee the REC assesses and helps keep Husky Robotics from going into the red for making the effort to host a face to face tournament. Please understand that getting these refunds back to teams will take some time.
If your team is not able to participate because of restrictions placed on your team by your parent organization (school, club, etc) or local Health Department you may ask for a refund of up to $90.
If your team is not able to participate because one of your team members has tested positive for or is suspected of having COVID-19 AND you are unable to find a substitute driver you may ask for a refund of up to $45.
If your team does not participate for any other reason there is no refund available.
Please contact me at aldermanm@benzieschools.net if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Marc Alderman

Spectators are not allowed to attend the tournament.
Teams are limited to three team members and one mentor in the building
Physical distancing of at least 6 ft. from other teams will be required.
Masks are required at all times, covering the nose and mouth, by both competitors and mentors inside of the Benzie Central Schools building. Mentors are asked to help enforce this policy.
Students and mentors should sanitize their own equipment.
Students and mentors should frequently wash their hands or use hand sanitizer.
People entering the building will have a no contact temperature check at registration.
A daily health screening form is required for adult mentors before entering the building. The form can be completed any time on the day of the tournament before entering the building. Here is a link to the survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeazRso04bpxZ_ZdmTq33mVp4BM6mwv9cSk4gkYOT3u0OctIA/viewform
The survey can also be accessed using a QR code posted on the doors on the building.
A MHSAA COVID Coach Monitor Form is required for each team documenting all student team members. This will be turned in on registration.
The competition and pit areas will be sanitized before the start of the day during the day as time allows.
Teams are not able to watch matches unless they are currently competing and on the drive team.
Mentors are able to watch their own teams compete.
Teams are requested to use a two person drive team for each match. If this is not possible, the team mentor will not be able to watch the teams compete for that match. This is not a punishment, this is to keep the number of people in the competition area in compliance with the MDHSS order of 1/13/21.
Charging stations will be set up for each organization. If teams practice together they may share a charging station. Please do not share charging stations or materials with any other teams.
There will not be concessions at this event. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks with lids. Please pay close attention to signs indicating where it is acceptable to eat and drink in the building and dispose of all waste properly.
