General Info

This event is open to Middle School and High School VRC Teams. Welcome, one and all!

There will be NO refreshments for sale onsite. However, there will be an hour lunch break and there are several local fast-food options, i.e.Subway, McDonalds, Carls Jr., Taco Time, etc. Monroe also has a variety of pizza restaurants that will deliver lunch to you, such as Alfy's, Domino's, or Sahara Pizza as well as Little Caesars to pick up from. There is also WalMart, Fred Meyer, Safeway, etc for those that are so inclined.

Bus parking is available on Hill Avenue (on the north side of the school). General parking is on the south side of the school and is accessible from Sams Street. 

VRC Qualifying Tournament

This VRC Tournament is a qualifying event to the Washington VRC State Championships and is open to all registered VRC School teams. The following awards will qualify to the Washington State Championship:

(1) - Excellence
(2) - Tournament Champions
(1) - Design
(1) - Robot Skills Champion

If 10+ teams from each grade level register for the event, then two Excellence Awards will be given (MS Excellence & HS Excellence).  Both will qualify to the Washington VRC State Championships.

The event must meet the VRC Qualifying Criteria for the results to upload to RobotEvents, which can be viewed in the Uploaded Documents.   If there is an out-of-state/region/province/nation team, or a team that double qualifies from the event (not from previous events or other methods), that spot will go to the next highest unqualified team on the Robot Skills ranking at that event. There is no look-back to previous events to see if a team has previously qualified. These spots will be filled by the Regional Support Manager after the event has been uploaded and the results have been verified.

The state qualification spots are determined by the capacity of the State Championship, the number of events in the state, and the size of the event.  The number of state championship spots for each local event are initially determined by the event capacity and will be reassessed one week prior to the event.  If you have questions about the State Championship qualification process, please contact your Regional Support Manager, Lisa Schultz at Lisa_Schultz@roboticseducation.org.
