Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of inclement weather, a decision will be made on how the competition will proceed.  This may include extended hours on some days or removal of matches from the competition schedule in order to complete the event.  Every effort will be reasonably made to continue the event as planned.

Refund and Payment Policies

• Teams who cancel before November 18, 2019 will receive a full refund.
• Teams who cancel between November 18 and December 18, 2019 will only receive a full refund if they are able to be replaced by another paying team.  If not, they will receive a $95 refund.
• Teams who cancel after December 18th, 2019 will not receive a refund.

We typically block rooms in the nearby Worcester hotels.  However, even with the discounts those rooms can still be $110-130/night.  Within 15 minute drive down the highway from campus, in Auburn and Marlboro for example, there are often lower rate hotels.  For example, the La Quinta in Auburn is one many team at our events stay at, and their rates are typically $60-90.

If you look for hotels on your own, avoid the Quality Inn (Oriol St Worcester).

The event will be webcast at https://www.twitch.tv/wpirobotics starting on Friday morning. Matches will be archived and publicly available after the event.

Worlds Qualifications

The following awards will qualify for the 2019 VEX World Championship:

• 1 Excellence Award Winner
• 2 Tournament Champions

If a team double qualifies, the Robot Skills Champion or next highest unqualified skills team will receive the Worlds invitation.
