General Info

The Woodcrest Middle School VEX Tournament is a qualifying event for the 2019 - 2020 VRC game Tower Takeover.

Important: Location Change to Larger Venue

We have moved the tournament location to:

Taft Charter High School at 5461 Winnetka Ave, Woodland Hills, CA 91364

Google Map - https://goo.gl/maps/FsMsxsSi7H8V3EcL6

This is just  off the 101 freeway at  Winnetka Ave.

It's only  a few  blocks away from Woodcrest Middle School  (original location).

We will host the event in the Taft High School auditorium. It is a typical large public high school auditorium. Taft has plenty of free parking as well.

I apologize for any inconvenience,  but I believe Taft will provide faster, better parking,  more spacious pit areas for teams,  and plenty of lunch options nearby.

Lunch:  We are blessed with abundant food options nearbyThere is a Ralphs supermarket with a full  deli directly across the street from Taft's parking lot.  There is a Jack in the Box on the opposite corner, Starbucks and Panda Express are also in the Ralphs center. Woodland Hills Market, Asal Bakery & Kabob, Ameci's Pizza, and In and Out are  within a block or two. There are many other quick food places on adjacent blocks as well including El Pollo Loco, Zankou Chicken, Jersey Mike's Sub, and Carl's Jr.  You can pick up or possibly use Grubhub  / Doordash or other delivery service.  Most of these are within 1.5 miles of the Taft parking lot.

We will have a snack bar with drinks at the venue as well.

We will be running two competition fields, a skills field, and a practice field. The event will be open to 24 teams and is open only to Middle School programs.

This event will be limited to 3 teams per school.  Once the event is full, a waiting list will be created for teams who were unable to register. Email the event director, Steve Ignacio (signacio@woodcrestschool.org) with any questions.

Teams should conduct themselves with good ethics, sportsmanship and kind behavior at all times.  Judges will be looking for these qualities when identifying  teams for awards.

Late Arrivals: Teams must be checked in 45 minutes prior to the start of the event so match schedules can be printed. Teams must contact the event director if they will be late, or they will be removed from the team list for the event.

Team Payment: Teams must be paid two weeks prior to the event. Teams not paid at this time may be dropped to allow for teams on the waiting list.

Security:  Park in the Taft Charter High School Lot.  Lock your car. Hide your valuables or bring them inside the auditorium with you.

It’s going to be fun and we look forward to seeing you at our tournament!
