All teams must be registered and paid within two weeks of earning a spot. Unpaid registrations will be moved to the waitlist.

There are no refunds

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Every reasonable effort will be made in the event of cancelation due to inclement weather to inform teams. Calls will be made when the decsion to cancel is made. The organizing commitee will attempt to secure a second date for the event. Should this not be possible refunds will be offered.

General Info

 

Monroe County Community College is pleased to host the MCCC/Knaubusch Michigan VRC MS State Championship. This college campus is an undiscovered jewel located in Southeastern MI. The recently completed $17.5 million Career Technical Center features robotics, welding, and automotive labs. There are over 20 career and technical certificates available to earn on campus.

The college has hosted VEX events at different levels since 2011. This will be the second State Championship. The event will be in the Gerald Welch Health Education Building. The referees and judges are experienced and looking forward to your presence.  For the second year in a row Splash/MCCC/Knabusch Foundation/Midway Products/RECF have joined together to provide a premier Middle School MI State Championship. 

 

 

Friday evening Splash Water Park and the adjoining Best Western will host the State Championship pre-party. This will include a water party in the waterpark and a student dance afterwards. New this year will be a mentor’s appreciation dinner.  

When making reservations mention the VRC MI MS State Championship to secure rates.

  • Water Park passes are included in room reservations.
  • Want to stay elsewhere but come to the waterpark for the fun? A half price pass can be purchased for $6.95.  These can be purchased at the door.
  • Also included in your hotel stay is the mentor’s banquet. Should you wish to attend the banquet but not stay at hotel the charge is $50.
  • Teams are allowed to send two mentors.
  • Kojo Quartey the President of MCCC will speak.
  • Just Confirmed State Senator Dale Zorn of the 17th district will speak.
  • Assuming you want to attend the festivities but not incur the hotel cost. Two mentor dinner tickets are $100. Four water park passes assuming you bring students $27.50 making evening cost $127.50. Pending room configuration hotel cost is free or nearly so. Come on down spend the night with us.
