General Info

After careful consideration and in alignment with cancellation of the 2020 VEX Robotics World Championship, the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Texas State VRC Championship presented by Texas Instruments and the STEM Advocate Experience due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

We have been closely monitoring the constantly evolving situation regarding the Coronavirus outbreak, and based on the Dallas County declaration on Thursday night, we feel it is our responsibility to do what we can to help reduce the rapid spread of COVID-19.

Although this is difficult news to share, we feel there is no acceptable alternative to proceed with the event, as the health and safety of our community is our top priority. All registration fees will be refunded for the event.

We recognize every team, parent, mentor, coach, volunteer, and sponsor for their steadfast commitment and passion this season to help advance STEM education and robotics around the globe. As we endure these unprecedented circumstances together, our mission to continually engage students in Texas and around the globe with hands-on, affordable and sustainable robotics engineering programs will not waver.

In the meantime, we encourage you to follow the health and safety precautions as recommended by the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and local and state officials to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

We know you will have additional questions and we will work to answer those questions. Given the unprecedented nature of the current circumstances, please understand it may take some time to figure out answers as the global situation evolves. Please email customerservice@roboticseducation.org with your inquiries.

Sincerely,
REC Foundation
