General Info

This is the BC Mainland Regional Championship specifically for Middle School teams.  It is a Qualification Event that leads to the VEX World Championships for the Middle school division.
Middle school teams are defined in this years rules if all members of the team are Middle school students.
A middle school student is defined as a student born after May 1st, 2004. 
Teams must be registered as middle school teams to be eligible.

Saturday EVENT 

Doors open at 7:30 am

Technical inspections opens at 8:00pm 

Skills runs will run from 8:30 am until 11:00 am (Skills will close at 11:00am)

Judging interviews/presentations runs from 9:00 am to 11:30 am

Qualification Rounds 11:00 to 12 pm
Lunch from 12 to 1:00 
Qualifications continue from 1:00 to 3:30 pm
Elimination Rounds approx. 3:45 - 4:15pm
Awards 4:30pm

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In case of an incident or circumstance effecting this event, PYRS will undertake three notification strategies.

  1. An advisory describing the situation (e.g. inclement weather) and the action being taken (e.g. event cancellation) will be posted to this RobotEvents event listing under this tab.  
  2. The same information will also be e-mailed to all registered team coaches.
  3. An incident notification will also be sent to all twitter accounts following the PYRSReporter 

Refund Policy

Event cancellation

Should the event be cancelled, registration fees will be refunded to all  teams in full

Team cancellation

Registered teams needing to cancel will be eligible for a full refund if notification of cancellation is submitted prior to freezeing (publication of) the qualification match schedule.  

Refund terms are as above.

Full refunds (or event credits) for teams that have paid by cash or cheque,

Please note: We consider our cancellation and refund terms to be very lenient. PYRS reserves the right to withdraw registration privileges of teams found to be abusing these terms (e.g. repeated team cancellations due to speculative registration).

The event is held in one of the two main gyms at the school.  Please park on Mathers Avenue in front of the school, head in the main doors to the main stairwell and go down one floor.  Then turn Left, now heading east, (past the cafeteria), towards the gyms.  The gym on the right, or south (referred to as the old gym) will be what we use for the tournament If teams wish to help by bringing a practice field please contact Todd Ablett as we can make sure we leave area for this and consider this in your registration cost.
