General Info
Welcome to the 2020 Ohio VEX Robotics High School State Championship!
We are looking forward to welcome the best teams in the state of Ohio for this championship event! Teams must qualify for this event on or before February 22, 2020. Qualified teams should be sure to register prior to the deadline and make sure that payment for registration fees has been processed.

Qualification to the VEX VRC World Championships
This event will qualify Ohio teams to the VEX Robotics World Championship in Louisville, KY. The following awards will earn VEX Robotics World Championship spots:

- (1) Design Award
- (1) Skills Award
- (2) Tournament Finalists
- (4) Tournament Semi-Finalists
- (1) Amaze Award
- (1) Think Award
- (1) Innovate Award
- (1) Build Award
- (1) Create Award
The Qualification Criteria indicates Ohio VRC HS is allotted 24 VEX World Spots! The 16 awards listed above were determined from the Qualifying Criteria document, then the 8 remaining spots not given as awards will be given to the 8 highest unqualified teams from the Ohio VRC Global Skills Standings after the results from the Ohio VRC High School State Championship have been uploaded. These teams will be contacted by the Regional Support Manager.
Similarly, if a team double qualifies for the VEX Robotics World Championships, then the Regional Support Manager will use the Ohio VRC Global Skills list to determine the next qualified team from the appropriate grade level. World Championship invitations from the World Skills Standings are issued by email after the results of the State Championship have been posted at RobotEvents.com, and will not be announced at the State Championship.
World Championship qualifying awards and invitations are issued to teams whether or not the teams have expressed an intention to attend the event. Unaccepted World Championship invitations are not offered or transferred to other teams.
Competition Preparation
This event is sure to be a fast-paced and exciting event. All teams should come prepared for competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are prepared.
1. Review the rules, the code of conduct, and run through the inspection checklist.
2. Check the Vex Forum for official for rule updates and changes.
3. Carefully read all of the information contained in this tournament posting
4. Review the descriptions and criteria for the awards that are being given during the tournament.
5. Prep for your interviews with the judges. Check the awards tab to see what awards will be given during the tournament.
6. Ensure that you have the latest version of firmware.
